The Sethi Chaiyen Group was founded by Mr Chaiyen Sethi in 1950.  The Group’s initial startup was in the area of textile trading where it has continued to enjoy success and a loyal following. In 1970, Mr Sanchai Sethi took over the helm of the business and soon diversified within the textile industry by introducing Indonesian style batik and sarong products. The Group remains a prominent player in the textile industry and true to its mission statement, which is to provide high quality goods to its customer base.

The year 1987 saw Mr Sethi's emphasis on exports take shape in its subsidiary Kings Import Export Co. Ltd.  In the subsequent three decades, Kings has built a formidable reputation in building global exports in various textile products which coincided with the rising international profile of Thai textiles in general.

In 1994 the group acquired Royal Universal Lace Co. Ltd., which facilitated the group’s expansion and modernization. Today Royal Universal is the group's flagship, and exports embroidery to premium outerwear customers globally.

Thai Lace Manufacturing was founded in year 2000 with state of the art Swiss machinery to service niche market demands of the fashion industry for high quality standards.

 In 2005, Mr Sethi founded Benchasiri Park Property to diversify into the burgeoning real estate and hospitality sector. The company currently owns the Bangkok Marriott Hotel and Mariott Executive Service Apartments in the heart of Bangkok, Thailand.
